Actions Taken by States/Organizations Other than the Virginia Board of Medicine
Last Updated 5/6/2024
Practitioner has had a disciplinary action taken by a professional licensing board in a state other than Virginia, or by a federal health institution, federal agency, or the voluntary surrender of a license in a state other than Virginia while under investigation Date: 2021
Entity Taking Action: Maryland Board of Medicine
Action Taken: I entered a voluntary consent order in MD (Case Number: 2219-0218) for improperly allowing an unlicensed naturopathic physician to represent herself as a ND and in some instances work in a manner that exceeded the scope allowed under my delegated authority. This N.D. was licensed in DC and was attempting, unsuccessfully, to obtain a license in MD. During the interim we made efforts to delegate duties appropriate to an unlicensed medical assistant and she left before the Maryland Board investigated the case. I was reprimanded for this conduct, ordered to take a course in ethics, and fined $5000
